INFORMATION FOR PRESENTERS

POSTER PRESENTATIONS

The display area allocated to each poster is 1m high x 70cm wide, please ensure that your poster does not exceed this size.

We suggest printing posters in B1 size, which measures 70.7 cm wide and 100 cm high. It’s important to leave a margin around the poster. When creating your poster, consider the visible area at eye level, as the panels will be mounted on stands. Display the posters in portrait style and print them on either poster paper or fabric. Bellow an image of the suggested B1 size at the left and human comparative size at the right.

For each poster, a numbered panel will be allocated (the same of the abstract registration). Conference staff will inform you of your poster panel number during the set-up time for your session. Poster sessions will occur in the “Modules” which is the same place for coffee break and lunch. Please ensure that you stand by your poster(s) during your session for discussions and questions.

When fixing your posters to boards, use clips similar to those shown in the photo below. These clips will be provided, and student helpers will assist presenters in attaching their posters to the board. Additionally, Velcro fixers will be used to hold posters in place. Remember to remove the Velcro fixers from the poster boards when taking down your poster.

Lastly, we recommend including a photo of yourself in your poster or attaching it separately. This will facilitate meetings with delegates interested in your work.

A poster should be comprehensible on its own, enabling diverse viewers to understand its content independently while allowing the author the flexibility to expand on specific points if needed. Presentations should prioritize simplicity and clarity, ideally incorporating a mix of text and visuals. It's important to note that the viewer, rather than the author, dictates the time spent engaging with each section of the poster, akin to slide presentations.

There are two sessions dedicated for poster presentations, please take a look at the program here

Poster Layout:

Materials should be affixed to colored poster paper or board with a matte finish preferred over glossy. Organize content in columns rather than rows to facilitate easier scanning for viewers. Position an introduction in the upper left corner and a conclusion in the lower right. The abstract need not be reiterated.

Illustrations:

Graphics should be designed for clear visibility from a distance, utilizing large, distinct graphics and legible text. Each figure or table should feature a concise heading followed by essential details in a legend below. Photographs should exhibit strong contrast, sharp focus, and include scale indicators if necessary.

Text:

Limit narrative content, opting instead for large type and concise, separated paragraphs. Utilize numbered or bulleted lists for conveying points effectively. Avoid excessive use of uppercase or bold text for entire paragraphs.

Titles and Fonts:

Keep titles and captions brief and easily readable, preferably in a sans-serif font. Employ large lettering to ensure readability from a distance without overcrowding. Don't forget to include the abstract title, authors' names, and affiliations in the poster caption.
